Today in the d building at 2:00 I went to an event  with my bls class that honored Tori Morrison. Toni morrison was a was an American author, editor, and professor.  A lot of her works revolve around black women defining their roles and striving to survive in a male dominated society.

They played a film was basically about words having power and how she grew up. People that knew her explained her books and her talents. They showed old pictures of tori and others from back in the day when she was little. She explained that she has had people ask her why she doesn’t write about white people. She made sure that white people were not dominate in  any of her books. Tori wrote her books to speak not for the people but to the people. She did not exclude anyone out or in.
