I will be mapping about racial profiling. To give you a quick entrance on my topic I’ll leave you this. There are many questions about racial profiling that still do not know the answer, such as, how does racial profiling in the past, affects the present? Are there cases of racial profiling today and what are they? Why colored, different religion, different ethnicity, has a certain impact in U.S. law enforcement? Judging someone just because they have a different color of skin happens every day and affects not only the victim, but it has a significant effect on the whole society, indeed, public safety. It is basically assuming some charges based on no real evidence.Racial profiling is the act of suspecting or targeting a person of a certain race for committing an offense. Racial profiling is illegal, however, it still a social controversy, it violates the U.S. Constitution’s core that promises equality under the law for everyone. It occurs especially when an officer accuse people based on their race, ethnicity or religion without any proof of criminal offense. Racial profiling is ineffective as an strategy from the law enforcement agencies and an offense for the 14th amendment of the constitution which states that “All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”
This is a very important topic to talk about, it’s not only an actual issue a lot of people are facing but it’s also a way a lot of people are being incriminated but also being killed for, I would personally like to read and learn more about this topic.
The Topic of Racial Profiling can be very interesting but the problem is that racial profiling is such a broad topic in the scope your using it in. You should narrow it down to a specific state or even city in order to get the most accurate and precise with your information. I also think you should be specific with the type of racism, an example Being black one white racism because racism as a whole is a very broad topic.
narrow down where you want to talk about racism in the U.S.A then pick a specific topic from racism and also you may want to state what is being prevented and what specific laws not just 1 but give more evidence that explains your argument.
I don’t know if you know what the location of your topic is for the map. Like just specifically the Bronx or Manhattan. If your going to talk about some of the news reports of the recent events or if your going to talk about how the past is still rooted in the present and what we might be able to do to change. For your map you could do locations where crime is, how many people of different race live there and where police arrest the most people.
It is a good topic because it teaches us the reality in the country that we live the police discriminate by race sexual orientation and other factors and think that a specific community is delinquent every person has rights that is why the amendment were signed
