My research proposal will be about art and public opinion of it. The map will be of all the physical locations of different art museums between the Bronx and Manhattan. They will be categorized due to rating and/or popularity. The point of this is to show that there is more to appreciate art than just physical paintings. This is to transition that there are artists online who would do just as good if not better pieces than in museums (beauty is in the eyes of the beholder after all). Some people may dismiss art as just being physical painted pieces on display on museums and leave it at that. Even if it’s part of it, it isn’t all of it. Some schools don’t even offer art classes for one reason or another and it’s a bit saddening. As someone who’s super passionate about art, I am personally curious about how the results will come out to be. This is also to gauge how older people view museum art versus digital art/art from the internet and how younger people view museum art versus digital art/art from the internet. This will account for different age groups and different styles of art to cover different bases and to see how diverse the results will be.

Poverty In NYC
The topic I will be researching for my English project is “Poverty”. A large amount of people do not know how it is to have a poor lifestyle. How it affects their kids and their personal life as they grow. I want to research poverty in Manhattan, looking at the last 10 years. I want to concentrate how how do they live their life specially having kids, how do they push forward. I want to know how their mindset, and how they became this way, if they were not poor before. I want to research this because a lot of people don’t appreciate what they have and are always looking at someone else’s accomplishment and feel guilty because theirs were not as high. But there is always another side, another side we do not feel like observing, a side that needs to be exposed. For many to feel grateful. I’ll be looking at how poverty has changed many lives, and mostly focusing on the ones that have children and are trying to escape this poor lifestyle. I want to keep researching, how does it affect their kids life? And what type of organization are helping to fight this battle. According to “Is It Possible To Live In Manhattan And Be In Poverty ?” It illustrates how poor people are also in the big apple of New York City something a lot of people would not believe because of what the city is known for or even because people or tourists do not take the time to really analyze NEw York City and its most unexpected things. New York City has a population of 1.6 million people and 17 percent is poverty. Seventeen percent are struggling to survive to have a normal like for themselves and their kids.

Food is essential for everyday life. There are different types of food in New York. You can find food in different neighborhoods including Little Italy, Chinatown, and etc. Food is a major part of cultures and social practices. It brings people together as a whole. For the last three years since I have been back in the South Bronx I have noticed one thing and that is the lack of supermarkets in the neighborhood I live in. The lack of supermarkets leaves the residents to buy food from bodegas or corner stores. The reason there is a shortage is because the South Bronx is in poverty. Supermarkets tend to be large and can take up half a city block. There is less space in the neighborhoods of the South Bronx to build supermarkets without making the residents there homeless or pushing them out of the borough. The one supermarket in my neighborhood is near the projects and everything in there is overpriced, so people can’t afford to buy healthy foods for their families. South Bronx has the largest supplier of produce right in Hunts Point and it feeds the region with 80% of fresh produce and 40% of its fresh meats, but the residents aren’t receiving it because the neighborhood has so little supermarkets. The Bronx is considered a food desert since it’s lacking the access to healthy and affordable foods. This has been an ongoing problem for more than 10 years and it needs to be fixed.

I would like to know the different interpretations of dreams from a spiritual point of view, a scientific point of view, as well as if dreams affect people’s decision making. Is dreaming the same for someone with a mental disorder or a neurological disorder. What affects a person’s ability to dream or remember their dreams being that everyone has dreams. dreams Everyone has them. Each individual has around four to six dreams a night. Most of our dreams we forget. Express subconscious feelings whether it be fear, confidence, or lack thereof. Our mind creates these images and stories as we sleep.Rem sleep is when our brains are most active.Where? Dreams occur when you fall asleep within your brain. When? They are most vivid when in rem sleep. Why? Our brains are hard at work storing important information and disregarding information that can not be used or stored. How? dreams mainly occur in the rapid-eye movement stage of sleep—when brain activity is high and resembles that of being awake. REM sleep is revealed by continuous movements of the eyes during sleep.
Meaning and value of dreams differ by person.a spiritual person my interpret a dream as a sign that something will happen or you are headed in a specific direction.

My Research Topic would be about Currency Trading. Currency Trading is making a rise, with numerous people whether they are a student or people with a degree. Anyone and almost everyone is using this make to make money. But I feel like it is a pyramid scheme as in they use your money to fuel the market but you see any profit in going it. The main reasons why I chose this topic is to answer so skeptics I have about this and to see if it actually works or if it really is just a scheme. So the main questions I would be asking is, how the currency market work? Do you really earn your money back in reasonable amount of time? I know you would not receive your money back in a few days I was just wondering when will you get it back. Also I feel like this could lead to people finding ways to make money so that they are less homeless people on the streets. This could improve a lot of communities but it could also destroy the economy if more people begin to trade that could lead to the dollar being worthless. Thus putting numerous countries into a deeper debt. So That would be a question do research as well. I would focus on the is the cause and who it would affect everyone as well as the economy. In all my Essay would summarize the Currency Market and who it affects the economy and people’s lives.
Global Warming by Angely
In my research paper I’ll be speaking about Glowing warming, I believe this is something I can give a lot of information on since global warming has been going on for a lifetime. I will be focusing my research paper on the history of the greenhouse effect and global warming and what parts of the world are most affected and what we can we do as humans to help decrease global warming because like i mentioned before global warming has been going on forever and this doesn’t only affect just a few people this affects people worldwide. Global warming is a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth’s atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and other pollutants. Everyday us humans cause global warming, a primary way is burning fossil fuels, this increases the amount of carbon in the atmosphere which leads to an increase in greenhouse effect. Svante Arrhenius is the swedish scientist who had claimed in 1896 that fossil fuel combustion may eventually result in enhanced global warming. He proposed a relationship between atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations and temperature. In the map part of my research paper ill demonstrate the most affected areas in the world by this Global Warming.

The topic I chose to research about for my essay is the Battle of Thermopylae. This topic interest me because one of the leaders, Xerxes, in this battle is mention in the Bible, book of Esther. Xerxes was the leader of the Persian and Leonidas was the leader of the Spatians. They were both at war with eachother in the year 480 B.C., which the victor being Xerxes. Going back to why this topic interest me was due to the 300 movie. In this movie they didn’t do well in pertaining the history of this war as well as it should had. The purpose of this research paper is to find out what was the Battle of Thermopylae. Some sub questions I have that relate to that is why did it happen and the outcome of it. In this essay I will have to focus on the battle happened in Greece and Persia in the year of 480 B.C. and it being a war. Also I would have to focus on the outcomes of the war on both sides. I’m writing about this topic because knowing our world history is very important. It can help us learn not to do the same mistakes over again if only we listen, learn, and understand what is going on in topic of history we are studying. The map I’m going to use for this research paper is a map of the battle of Thermopylae. The map shows what route the Persian army took to get to Thermopylae/ Greece.

For my research paper I will be speaking about police brutality all over New York City. People have been killed all over the world from excess force used by police but for this research project I will just speak about police brutality in the 5 boroughs of New York City. A lot of people have lost their lives at the hands of people that should be working to protect us. New York is home to many people that are a part of the Latino and Black community. These people are usually in the lower and middle class and these are the people that you see more often running into problems with the law, unfortunately.(why) People have been shot and killed because of a misunderstanding and lack of communication. (what kind) I want to focus on all types of police brutality including false arrests, racial discrimination, sexual harassment and abuse, unreasonable searches etc. I would like to speak about what kind of behavior causes police to act the way that they do towards some of the people on the street. I want to find out what is the reason behind the way that they act. I want to give New Yorkers some answers as to why our people are getting shot and killed everyday. It is not fair that people from the latino and black community have to fear for their lives. Even young kids have gotten arrested for something that they did not even do and also shot at. This is a traumatizing experience for both the kids and their families.
The Problem With Plastics
Let’s start with we go outside everyday on our daily life with a bottle of water on our hands, a can of soda with a long plastic straw, a plastic bag with our groceries, or at parties the use of plastic with the decorations and balloons. All of these at one point was a good use for us but the real question is where all these waste go to? We can’t burn plastic because the fumes of the plastics can cause harm to the environment and get people sick. The use of plastic in general is increasing about 300 million tons of plastic waste every year and we don’t realize it is very dangerous for the sea animals, seabirds, and humanity. All these waste of plastic get accumulated into the ocean, the river, or a land creating patches of causing harm to the sea animals on which we eat everyday. The plastic that sea animals consumed mistakenly thinking it’s food passing the toxins from the plastic to the food chain than we end up consuming it as well making us get sick while the animals die from it. Also, some plastics don’t decompose fully which means it leaves behind smaller pieces called “MicroPlastics” meaning that it stays on the water forever. For this reason we should decrease the use of plastics to save many animals and also save our planet.
How can we reduce the amount of plastic that we use everyday?
Is it worth the use of plastic better than saving the animals?
What are other options besides throwing away plastics?

Yarisleidy Fana: Research topic
My research essay will be focused on birth control and it’s availability over the last 10 years. This topic intrigues me because you do not see enough resources where women could go to in order to get any kind of birth control. I have noticed that there are not many places to go to besides Planned Parenthood which Donald Trump is trying to get rid of. Teen pregnancy is rising and there are a large number of teenagers visiting these clinics. One of the questions that I have is what is the age range of the people who go and get birth control? How does every form of birth control work? As well as if the Bronx has the lowest number of clinics available that offer birth control? I have seen a lot of cases where women could not get it because their insurance would not cover it and they would have to settle for just condoms or keeping an unwanted pregnancy. Some people’s bodies reject Birth control which makes it impossible for them to have it in their bodies for too long. While doing my research I would like to know why birth control is so expensive? Also, if it is actually safe and healthy for your body. In my map I would like to include all the clinics that are available in the Bronx to provide you with any form of birth control that you desire and I will include the race/ethnicities that visit the clinics the most specifically for that.
